Kingston Innovation Centre Ltd.

Kingston Innovation Centre (KIC) is being run by a not for profit company – Kingston Innovation Centre (Properties) Ltd. There is however involvement in the risk aspects of supporting new companies. For this a separate company has been formed – Kingston Innovation Centre Ltd. This will be run in a conventional way with shareholders and equity. It will become involved where a risk is involved that would not fit a not for profit entity.

This company will therefore be involved:

• Taking equity interest in some companies by means of seed funding.
• Running the KANES Programme and taking equity interest as compensation for time and cost.
• In establishing a seed fund specifically to invest in companies using the KIC incubation facility.
